Control and Urgency

by Albert Mensah

I was involved in my first major automobile accident one unforgettable January day. My SUV spun out of control on a Washington highway in snowy conditions on Jan.22. As I watched my truck going in the wrong direction, and I honestly thought I was going to die, all I could think about was my children, not getting the opportunity to see them grow, how was my wife was going to cope without me in her life after twenty-two years together.

I thought of my mom and dad, nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters and friends who saw me in Ghana just three week’s ago and of course you who look forward to reading the Inspirer.

Miss Pamela Kluth, put it all together for me this way;

My accident was really not an accident after all, but an important reminder that we are really not in control. It is an illusion that serves us all well most of the time to help keep our fears away. But when life’s events unfold to tell us we are not in control we all react to surviving differently;

1. Some of us will never leave a safe zone to reduce risks.

2. Some of us will somehow find the endurance and stamina to control even more in our world, effecting ourselves and those around us.

3. Some of us will choose denial of what event or action took place.

4. Some of us will surrender control to a faith of a higher power than ourselves.

When circumstances such as my accident unfold, it brings with it a potential catalyst for change in oneself. The end result from our response is what needs to be looked at.

The first choice brings with it paranoia.

The second choice delivers eventual exhaustion and unhappy relationships.

The third leaves us living not fully awake.

The fourth leaves us in a feeling of centered and grounded in understanding that if you are living in line with your purpose, you will be at the right place at the right time.

This week the Inspirer wants you to remember that you are in the right place at the right time with ENOUGH time to do all the good work your Higher power has planned for you… Enjoy the journey.
Have a safe and Inspired week.

We LOVE your feedbacks, comments and suggestions so much please keep them coming. Thank you.
