The Writing Coach is a monthly subscription service that includes access to an experienced editing team to manage each phase in the writing process. We meet you where you are, wherever you are in the writing process.
The Writing Process Generally includes these Steps
Ideation
Great things happen when working with an experienced team. We start by exploring the “big idea” behind your story. Your editing team will help establish the big picture. Next, we identify your reader. Together, we establish the “why to buy” that will motivate readers to purchase your book.
Story Inventory
Every great manuscript contains an inventory of characters, key points, and supporting stories. We will help you organize your thoughts using a system built around your Story Inventory. The Story Inventory resource becomes an invaluable part of your writing experience as you carve out blocks of time to write.
Writing Plan
Having a well-organized Writing Plan is a practical tool to organize the major elements of your manuscript. This tool includes your Table of Contents along with a breakdown of your key ideas and story inventory. Each section of your manuscript will be assigned a word count target to help guide the creative process.
Editing
Editing a book manuscript includes two types of edits: a Copy Edit and a Developmental Edit. Your editor standardizes the Copy Edits using the Chicago Manual of Style for spelling, punctuation, and grammar. In addition, your editor will perform a Developmental Edit which focuses on the flow of thought, content structuring, phrasing, transitory statements, and input for the author for areas that require more clarity.
Completed Manuscript
The outcome of The Writing Coach experience is a manuscript suitable to publish, with authority. In summary, The Writing Coach brings expertise to guide you through the completion of a manuscript ready to publish. We help each step of your writing journey with this system, knowing you are busy and that this project is very important to you.

Terms: Monthly payments are set up automatically for the duration of your writing schedule (3-month minimum term). Cancel anytime after the first 3 months. The Writing Coach service includes developmental editing to a maximum of 4,000 words per month.
